George Clooney and Brad Pitt star in the Coen Brothers' latest film Burn After Reading, which opens the Festival.

The charity event took place in Venice for Clooney and Pitt's charity Not On Our Watch, which has raised money to help victims of crises such as that in Darfur.

The charity was launched last year by the stars and some of their colleagues.

At one point, Clooney dashed past photographers saying he would be "un momento".
